Lusting Beautiful Bodyscapes II

The ancient master of bodyscapes says it all.

"What spirit is so empty and blind,

that it cannot recognize the fact

that the foot is more noble than the shoe,

and skin more beautiful

that the garment

with which it is clothed?"

Buonarroti Michelangelo

Lusting Beauty . . .

Of Shadowy Images

There!
Clusters,splotches,
Grayish white pixels
From places unknown.
Collecting like dewdrops.

There!
Projected, deposited,
Upon my mind's eye
Shadows of figures
With fuzzy edges dissolving.

There!
I see them,
Each standing alone,
Like images I've known,
Similar yet different.

There!
In my mind,
Perhaps in yours,
Greeting similar images.
Each saying hello.

There!
Much like pictures
At an exhibition,
That brought
Mussorgsky fame,
Known only by sound,
And somehow seen.

There!
Clusters,splotches,
Grayish white pixels
From places unknown.
Collected like dewdrops,
Evaporating, Gone!

Lusting Beauty . . .

Of Negative Space

I admit, I'm a bit envious of artists that are able to extract the essence of their subjects and present it from a vantage point that ordinary artists like myself couldn't have imagined.

Such an artist is cubist
Alexander Archipenko .

Lusting Beauty . . .

Of the Golden Rule

Living in a world fraught with religious disharmony I am reminded of the lyrics of
Imagine by John Lennon.

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us

Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
