Lusting Beauty of Serendipity

It was serendipity to be sure. I took a walk today in the warm breezes of coastal Florida.
My nose caught aromas that stirred memories inside of me from times long past, when summers were hot and there always seemed to be plenty of time to while away.

I was surfing the net later on and came upon
Cover Browser .

I found just the illustrations to convey those past summers to you!

Lusting Beauty . . .

Of Shadowy Images

There!
Clusters,splotches,
Grayish white pixels
From places unknown.
Collecting like dewdrops.

There!
Projected, deposited,
Upon my mind's eye
Shadows of figures
With fuzzy edges dissolving.

There!
I see them,
Each standing alone,
Like images I've known,
Similar yet different.

There!
In my mind,
Perhaps in yours,
Greeting similar images.
Each saying hello.

There!
Much like pictures
At an exhibition,
That brought
Mussorgsky fame,
Known only by sound,
And somehow seen.

There!
Clusters,splotches,
Grayish white pixels
From places unknown.
Collected like dewdrops,
Evaporating, Gone!

Lusting Nostalgic . . .

For a time long past

When I came upon this painting by Cecil Crosby Bell, I was immediately swept back to a time in my childhood.
My Aunt Cis, my cousin Bob, and I were visiting cousin Liz and Great Aunt Anna in New York City, 1952.
Liz said we were going to go for a swim. I was expecting something vastly different, I being from the country, than the concrete wadding pool in which we cooled ourselves that day.

I've included three more of Bell's paintings below. Perhaps one of them will strike a note of nostalgia with you.
